Register of Precious Metals and Stones Dealers maintained by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise

The register is maintained by the Commissioner of Customs and Excise (CCE) and kept at the office of the CCE. The register is available for inspection by members of the public without charge during normal office hours to enable any of them to ascertain whether he or she is dealing with a registrant. The register is made available online for public inspection at the related website of this department. As required by the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Chapter 486, you may only use the information provided in this Register for the specified purpose as set out above.


Furthermore, any person may, on payment of the fee specified in Schedule 3K of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance, Chapter 615, obtain the following information by submitting the duly completed request form to the CCE -

  • (a) a certified copy or an uncertified copy of an entry in, or extract from, the register; or
  • (b) a certificate by the Commissioner stating—
    • (i) that the name of a person has been entered in the register and that the person is specified to be a Category A registrant or a Category B registrant;
    • (ii) that the name of a person has not been entered in the register; or
    • (iii) that the name of a person has been removed from the register.
